Came Home Happy

读者 Calvin Law 问下面一句为什么用 came home happy 而不是 came home happily?

Tom came home happy on Saturday afternoon because he could finally enjoy himself after the lesson.

John is only 5 years old but he looks big for his age.

The steak is overcooked and it tastes burnt.

例子中,"he looks big" 和 "it tastes burnt" 中动词后面都接上形容词而不是副词,因为 big 和 burnt 分别修饰的对象是主语(代名词)"he" 和 "it",而不是 "looks" 和 "tastes" 的动作。
