复合材料是科学技术发展的重要物质基础和先导,从航空航天到电子计算机等高技术领域,复合材料的应用已成为传统单一材料不可替代的关键技术材料。世界上各先进国家都将复合材料列为国家发展关键技术,我国“863”计划、国防科技发展战略及国家建材2010年发展规划都把复合材料列为重中之重。我国复合材料工业产量从上世纪80年代初至今已翻了5.5番,平均年增长率为28%,近几年发展速度更快。复合材料工业的迅速发展,迫切需要大批高质量的技术人才。

本校“复合材料与工程”专业创建于1972年,是全国最早创办此专业的高校之一。40多年来已培养各层次人才(本科生、研究生)一千余名,这些毕业生走上工作岗位后,由于理论知识扎实全面、思路开阔、具有创新思想和开拓意识,已成为研究和生产单位的技术骨干和管理干部,深受用人单位的欢迎。

本专业在40多年的发展过程中,形成了自己的办学特色和科研方向。专业面已从树脂基复合材料拓宽到陶瓷基复合材料和金属基复合材料,并仍保持了树脂基复合材料的优势和特色。主要的研究方向有:耐高温复合材料、高强度复合材料、耐腐蚀复合材料和纳米功能复合材料等。

本专业的课程设置注重基础理论与工程的结合、自然科学知识教育与文化素质教育结合,理论与实践相结合,以拓宽学生的知识面,培养他们的动手能力与创新能力,增强就业的适应性。本专业课程设置分公共平台、(材料)大类平台和专业平台进行安排,主要课程包括:邓小平理论概论、高等数学、线性代数、概率论与数理统计、大学物理、基础化学、工程力学、有机化学、物理化学、化工原理、材料概论、材料表界面、材料研究方法、高分子科学基础、树脂基复合材料、复合材料结构设计等。本专业还设有下厂实习、毕业设计和毕业论文等实践环节。

本专业培养德、智、体全面发展,掌握复合材料制备与工程研究、开发设计与应用的理论基础和实验技能,具有对复合材料进行材料设计、结构设计、工艺设计、开发先进复合材料及制品的能力;掌握复合材料的成型加工技术和设备原理,了解复合材料学科前沿发展信息,适应21世纪我国社会主义现代化建设的复合型高级工程技术人才。

本专业毕业生就业方向:从事复合材料或材料研究、开发和生产的高等院校、研究设计院、所企业,以及与复合材料相关的建筑、电机、电子、航空航天、国防军工、信息通讯、轻工、化工等有关的企业和公司。

本专业学制4年,学生达到教学要求后,可获得本科毕业证书和工学学士学位证书。

Composite Materials Engineering

Composite Materials is one kind of the essential substances and precursors in the development of science and technology. Composites as a key material which can not be replaced by traditional substance have been applied in lots of high technical fields from aerospace to electronic computer etc. Composites has been accredited as the most important discipline by “863” poject, national defendant strategy and “2010” development scheme of national construction materials. The output of composites has increased 4.5 folds from the beginning of 1980'and annual average growth is 28%. With rapid development of composites, a lot of technical talents with high quality are urgently required by society.

The specialty was established in 1972, and was one of the earliest specialties in China. More than one thousand of students including undergraduate and graduates have been cultivated during 40 years. After graduation, they have gradually been technical pillars and wined highly evaluation because of solid theory basis, all-round knowledge, widely idea and creative and exploitive mentality.

The specialty has gradually come into being its own teaching features and research directions during the 30 years of development. The specialty scopes have been expanded from resin matrix composites to ceramic matrix composites and metal matrix composites and remained advantages and characterizations of resin matrix composites. The research directions are mainly focused on the following areas: high temperature composites, high strength composites, corrosive resistant composites and functional composites etc.

Among the course settlement, combinations of foundation theory and engineering, nature science and culture education, theory and practice have already been emphasized in order to expand learning and cultivate ability of operation and innovation. Specialty courses have been divided to public, material and specialty platform. The main compulsory courses for all undergraduate students include Den Xiaoping theory, higher mathematics, linear algebra, probability and statistics, university physics, basic chemistry, engineering mechanics, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering principle, materials generality, materials surface and interface, materials research method, fundamental of polymer science and resin matrix composites etc. Meanwhile, the student can also get the practice in technique design, practice in companies and dissertation for bachelor.

The targets of the specialty are to cultivate qualified compound engineers and technicians with good morality, intelligence and physical fitness who master the basic knowledge and experimental skill in composites preparation and engineering research, project design and application. The undergraduates should have the ability of design for composite materials, structure, processing and the ability of developing advanced composites and products. Furthermore they should grasp the front-line disciple information and well know processing technology and equipment principle so that they can adapt to socialist modernization construction of 21st century.

The graduation students from this specialty are qualified for advanced college, academy and (other establishments) high technology to engage in researching, developing and producing composites, and can be able to undertake exploitation composites in building materials, generator, electronic, aviation and aerospace, national defence, communication, light industry, chemicals and so on.
