职位描述

Summary:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operation Director will serve as the leader for the production, planning/buying, maintenance, warehouse, and safety management teams. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the incumbent will be a role model for the Company’s vision and values, and drive them throughout the organization. The Operation Director will set high standards for operational performance and align people, principles, and processes to drive the organization towards excellence in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, environmental protection, continuous improvement and stakeholder satisfaction. The incumbent also will serve as the SLT representative to the Government. Success in this position will require a broad mix of technical and social skills, and a proven record of developing high performing people and teams.

Required Education:

BS in engineering, math, science, business management or other technical discipline

Desired Education:

Masters Degree in Engineering or Business

Required Skills and Experience:

Fluent Chinese, technical written English, conversational spoken English

BS degree in engineering or business management

A minimum of 7 years progressive manufacturing experience in a WFOE

A solid history of meeting and exceeding expected results in past positions

Demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology in a manufacturing environment

Desired Skills and Experience

Laminates, composites, plastics, or other similar industry experience.

Results oriented: A solid history of meeting and exceeding expected results in past positions.

Customer Consciousness: A clear understanding of internal and external customers’ needs, and demonstrated ability for creating value in product and service to grow customer satisfaction.

Enterprise Thinking: Ability to see the big picture in a process and understand how individual elements fit together to create the value stream. Able to quickly see waste in a process that others may not see.

Adaptation: Comfortable with rapid change, able to recognize others’ resistance to change, and lead individuals and teams through the change process. A “hands on” operating style and a tenacity to build support for change.

Taking Initiative: Must be self-motivated, have a bias for action, a sense of urgency, and quickly take personal responsibility to drive improvements.

Innovation: Able to analyze problems, apply critical thinking, and find creative solutions.

Collaboration: Be a team player, understand team dynamics, able to assemble, lead, and motivate effective teams at all levels of the organization.

Communication: Ability to prepare and present a concise and comprehensive business case to all levels of the organization from executives to manufacturing floor personnel.

Performance Measurement Points:

Measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, service, cost, cycle time and employee development.

Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe and environmentally conscious production environment. Working with the HSE leader and the engineering teams, drive the business towards zero safety incidents and fully compliant environmental protection systems.

Proactively Manage Government Relationships and Requirements. Working with other members of staff, provide leadership for all Government interactions. Maintain good relationships and communication with all regulatory agencies. Ensure that the Company is proactive in its management of Government expectations.

Set the pace for production. Working with the inside sales and production management teams, establish and execute all work processes necessary to meet customer delivery commitments and lead-time goals for the company.

Manage inventory investment. Through the planner/buyers, control inventory levels to meet customer expectations and working capital targets. Lead the warehouse operations to ensure accuracy and proper inventory controls.

Drive continuous improvement. Serve as a visible leader and champion for the continuous improvement process throughout the operations of the company. Demonstrate the Company value of teamwork to drive improvements to service levels, costs, and quality across department lines.

Ensure process reliability, stability, and availability. Through the maintenance and MRO team, ensure that all production equipment and support utilities are available in a manner that increases stakeholder satisfaction. Utilizing the technician and group leader structure in production, establish systems to reduce variation and improve process stability.
